Today's Tried and True topic is about the lovely 

Benefits of Cinnamon



More Benefits of Cinnamon:

1. Studies have shown that consuming 1/2 tsp per day may help to lower LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol)
2. Regulatory effect on blood sugar levels- helps to maintain a steady blood glucose level- especially important for those with type 2 diabetes.
3. May help to stop medication-resistant yeast infections (hello lady!)
4. May reduce the proliferation of leukemia and lymphoma cancer cells.
5. Has anti-clotting effect on the blood
6. May relieve arthritis pain
7. Inhibits bacterial growth and food spoilage when added to foods- natural preservative!
8. May boost cognitive function and memory
9. Helps to fight E Coli bacteria in unpasteurized juices
10. Great source of manganese, fiber, iron, and calcium.

Ways to add Cinnamon into your Diet:
-Add to your oatmeal, coffee, smoothies, juices, etc.
-When baking, try adding a little bit of cinnamon for flavor. 
-Use cinnamon for baking/cooking with Butternut Squash, Acorn Squash, Pumpkin, etc.  
- Use natural cinnamon sticks in your favorite warm beverage.
- Use cinnamon when making black beans to put in burritos, nachos, etc.
-Add it to your kid's toast for breakfast...also add some honey for a sweet treat!
